Database Releases HCUP databases are released throughout the year through the Central Distributor. Purchasing information for the Nationwide Inpatient Sample, Kids Inpatient Database, and Nationwide Emergency Department Sample is available in the NIS Application Kit, KID Application Kit, and NEDS Application Kit respectively. State database pricing and availability are listed in the SID/SASD/SEDD Application Kit (beginning on pages 6, 11, and 13 for SID, SASD, and SEDD, respectively).
